Hungarian-Austrian Exhibition to Open in Japan

An exhibition of works from the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest and the Kunsthistorisches Museum of Vienna will open in Japan to mark the 140th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and Japan.
The exhibition, organised by Jomiuri Sinbun, will feature 113 works of art, including 24 from the Museum of Fine Arts, by the likes of Rafael, Tintoretto, Tiepolo, Dürer, Cranach, Van Dyck, Greco and Velázquez. The National Art Center in Tokyo will host the exhibition between September 25 and December 14. It will be shown in the National Museum in Kyoto from January 5 until March 14, 2010.
